CD19 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein important in B-lymphocyte signal transduction.1 Together with CD21, CD81, and β1 integrin, it is a part of the B-lymphocyte signaling complex, which regulates B-cell activation and differentiation.2 Originally identified as B4, CD19 is a pan B-cell antigen expressed from the B-cell progenitor stage where rearrangement of immunoglobulin genes takes place, to the terminal stage of B-cell differentiation into plasma cells.3,4,2 CD19 is detected on follicular dendritic cells and malignant B-cells. Cayman Chemical’s CD19 Monoclonal Antibody can be used for flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemistry (frozen tissue sections) on samples of human origin. This monoclonal antibody can be used to identify human leukemias and lymphomas. Other applications for use of this antibody have not yet been tested.
