Description

Antigen: human U19 amino acids 5-16 (AGFSHLDRRERV) · Host: rabbit · Application(s): WB and IHC (formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections) · U19 is a testosterone-regulated apoptosis inducer with tumor suppressive activity.1 In vivo, overexpression of U19 induces massive apoptosis and inhibits prostate tumor growth.1 It was first identified as ELL-associated factor 2 (EAF2), which shares high homology with EAF1 that also interacts with ELL, and may play a role in leukemogenesis.2 U19/EAF2 mRNA is widely expressed in various tissues, with the most abundant expression in the prostate, kidney, bone marrow, and lymph nodes.1 Cayman Chemical’s U19 Polyclonal Antibody can be used for western blot and immunohistochemical (formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections) analysis for U19 on samples from human, mouse, and rat. Other applications for use of this antibody have not yet been tested. The antibody detects a 43 kDa endogenous protein by western blot in human, murine, and rat samples, which is consistent with published data for U19.2
