Clone designation: RIV7 · Host: mouse · Isotype: IgG2a · Application(s): 1 µg/ml for detection of CD4 by flow cytometry (FACS). Immunoblotting or staining paraffin-embedded tissue sections is not recommended with this antibody · CD4, a transmembrane glycoprotein, is present on the surface of a majority of thymocytes and T cell subpopulations, which recognize antigens presented by MHC class II molecules. The CD4 antigen is also found on monocytes, dendritic cells, tissue macrophages and granulocytes. CD4+ T lymphocytes are presented by functional T-helper cells and CD4+CD25+ regulatory (suppressor) T cells. Estimation of CD4+ T cell level could be used for immunological status monitoring.¹
