Trolox is a cell-permeable, water-soluble derivative of vitamin E with potent antioxidant properties. It is commonly used as a standard or positive control in antioxidant assays.1,2 In addition, trolox is used to assess the role of oxidative injury in processes like neuronal cell death and aging.3,4 Trolox is effective as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of certain cancers.5
