Antigen: HeLa cells transfected with human BLT₁ · Clone designation: 7B1 · Host: mouse · Application(s): ICC, IHC of frozen sections, and flow cytometry · The human BLT₁ receptor is a G protein-coupled receptor that mediates the proinflammatory effects of leukotriene B₄ (LTB₄).¹ Northern blotting reveals that the BLT₁ receptor is highly expressed in leukocytes, U937 cells, and to a much lower extent in spleen and thymus.¹ Sheep lung membranes have also been identified as a rich source for receptor isolation and purification.² A second, low-affinity LTB₄ receptor, BLT₂, has also been cloned and characterized.^3,4,5 Cayman Chemical’s BLT₁ Receptor Monoclonal Antibody is a useful tool for the detection of human BLT₁ by flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and immunocytochemistry. The antibody does not cross react with the other leukotriene receptors (BLT₂, CysLT₁, or CysLT₂) and does not work for Western blot analysis of BLT₁.
