In the Background section of the COX Activity Assay Kit booklet, it states that the COX component converts arachidonic acid to Prostaglandin G2 (PGG2) and the peroxidase component reduces the PGG2 to the corresponding alcohol, PGH2. In this kit the TMPD serves as a reducing agent, TMPD gets oxidized, so electrons flow from the TMPD to PGG2 and the appearance of the oxidized. TMPD is monitored at 590 nm. Show answer |
