Selection of an appropriate MPO kit will depend on sample type (some are not appropriate for serum) as well as substrate interactions. Note that peroxidation reactions are NOT specific for MPO, thus chlorination reactions will provide much more sensitive readouts. The MPO EIA is designed to be used with human plasma and uses reagents adapted from a clinically approved kit.
