The Precellys line of equipment, manufactured by Bertin Technologies, is dedicated to the grinding, lysis, and homogenization of biological samples.

The Precellys bead beating homogenizers are used as highly efficient solutions for the homogenization of samples ranging from bacteria and yeast spores, hair, bone, and skin to liver, kidney and brain. These homogenizers can process samples less than 10 mg and up to 5 grams in size in a fraction of the time it takes conventional methods.

The Precellys® 24 , Precellys® 24-Dual , and the Precellys® Minilys - Personal Tissue Homogenizer were developed for use in GLP and BSL-3 laboratories. The Precellys® 24 and Precellys® 24-Dual both utilize Bertin’s patented Press Block system to ensure quick and easy loading of samples while firmly securing sample tubes during homogenization. Each model in the Precellys line uses standard 2 ml and 7 ml tubes to eliminate cross-contamination and help to decrease sample loss. Samples are processed in a figure-eight multi-directional motion resulting in a completely ground and homogenous sample.

The Precellys® 24 can process up to 24 × 0.5 ml /2 ml tubes, while the Precellys® 24-Dual offers researchers the option of running 12 × 0.5 ml /2 ml tubes or 6 × 7 ml tubes at once. Researchers with lower throughput needs now have an affordable option—the Precellys® Minilys - Personal Tissue Homogenizer processes 3 × 0.5 ml /2 ml tubes or 1 individual 7 ml tube.
