Kirk M. Maxey, MD
- President
MD University of Michigan, BS Chemistry Colorado State University
After receiving his degree in organic chemistry from Colorado State, Dr. Maxey worked as a medicinal chemist at the Upjohn Company in Kalamazoo. He entered medical school at The University of Michigan in 1980 and after graduation dedicated his full attention to Cayman Chemical, a research biochemical company that he started while still a student.
Dr. Maxey has been a consultant and expert witness for Alcon and Pfizer as well as a contributing editor and reviewer for Prostaglandins and Other Lipid Mediators.

Jim Militello
- Chief Financial Officer
BBA in Accounting from Michigan State University, Certified Public Accountant – State of Michigan
Jim joined Cayman Chemical in August 2009. Jim is the former CFO at National Archive Publishing Company and has held senior level finance positions at Thomson Corporation, CoreComm Limited (formerly Voyager.Net, Inc.), Bell & Howell LLC, and Baxter International Inc.

Jeffrey Johnson, PhD
- Vice President Biochemistry
PhD Biochemistry, North Dakota State University
Joined Cayman in 1993 as a Research Scientist. Jeffrey has worked in the capacity of Biochemistry Manager and Director of Technical Marketing and Services.
Promoted in September of 2003 to the position of Vice President of Biochemistry, Jeff is responsible for the technical direction of current and long range objectives for the biochemistry division and ensures the goals for product and profitability are met.

Shannon M. Stacey
- Vice President Quality and Regulatory Affairs
BS Chemistry, University of Michigan
Joined Cayman in 1994 as a Lab Assistant in our Quality Assurance Department. In 1997 Shannon was promoted to Manager of Quality Assurance before transferring to the Technical Information Department where she worked as a Technical Writer.
In May of 2004 Shannon was promoted to Vice President which includes managing our GMP QA and QC, Safety and Regulatory Affairs, and Technical Information groups.

Gregory W. Endres, PhD
- Vice President Chemistry
PhD Organic Chemistry, Wayne State University, BS Cellular and Molecular Biology, University of Michigan
Greg joined Cayman in 1995 as an Organic Chemist in the Research Chemistry Department. In 1997, began graduate studies and upon completion in 2001 worked as a Medicinal Chemist for UCB Pharma in Cambridge, MA.
Rejoined Cayman in 2004 as a Research Scientist and in 2007 was promoted to Manager of Medicinal Chemistry. In June 2009, Greg was promoted to Vice President of Chemistry and oversees all chemistry staff and activities.

Gilles Chambournier, PhD
- Director of Process Chemistry and GMP Chemistry
PhD Organic Chemistry, The Ohio State University
Joined Cayman in September of 2004 as a Senior Research Scientist after 4 years as a Senior Research Scientist at Abbott Laboratories in Process Chemistry. Gilles has worked in the capacity of Manager of Process Chemistry since 2005 and Manager of Process Chemistry and GMP Chemistry since 2008.
In June of 2009, Gilles was promoted to Director of Process Chemistry and GMP Chemistry which includes the technical direction for the development of new chemical processes for bulk non-GMP products and their manufacturing as well as overseeing our GMP manufacturing operation.

Mark J. Holt
- Director of Information Technology
BBA Computer Information Systems, Eastern Michigan University
Mark started his career as a software engineer after graduating from Eastern Michigan University with Honors. He has worked for several companies including ProQuest and Comerica Bank in progressively senior roles within Information Technology.
Joined Cayman in September of 2006, Mark is responsible for all of the technology solutions of the company across the globe including analyzing, defining, and managing significant web and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems development and deployment projects.

Heidi Hassen
- Manager of Human Resources
BA, Employment Relations, Michigan State University
Heidi joined Cayman’s management team in 2006. In her role as HR Manager, she oversees the company’s human resources function and staff including employment, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, recordkeeping, policy management and legal compliance.
Heidi has nearly 20 years of HR experience including over 10 years in HR management. She has a Bachelors degree in Employment Relations from Michigan State University.
