Myoseverin is a trisubstituted purine which binds microtubules, reversibly altering cellular function.1,2 At 20 μM, it directly binds tubulin and disrupts the structure of the microtubule cytoskeleton, resulting in myotube fission.1 Myoseverin arrests cell cycle in the G2/M phase, followed by DNA synthesis and cell proliferation after removal of the compound.1
