    1,2,3,4,6-Penta-O-galloyl-β-D-glucopyranose is a major component of the root of P. suffruiticosa, a tree peony native to China and used in traditional mudanpi medicine practices.1 At 30 µM, it has been reported to inhibit the growth of human hepatocellular carcinoma SK-HEP-1 cells by causing cell cycle arrest and suppressing the activation of NF-κB.1
