    DIDS is a stilbene sulfonate that inhibits anionic transport. It has been used to inhibit Cl- uptake through plasma membrane-localized Cl- channels in order to study chloride transport.1 It also effectively inhibits various sodium-coupled bicarbonate transporters.2
