    Product Description

    SW033291 is a noncompetitive inhibitor of 15-PGDH (apparent Ki = ~0.1 nM).1 Intraperitoneal administration of SW033291 (10 mg/kg) increases the levels of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) by two-fold in bone marrow, colon, lung, and liver in mice and, at 5 mg/kg, promotes hematopoietic recovery in a mouse model of bone marrow transplant. It reduces ulcer numbers and size and increases colonic crypt cell proliferation in a mouse model of colitis induced by dextran sulfate sodium (DSS; Item No. 23250). Systemic administration of SW033291 (5 mg/kg) induces articular cartilage regeneration in aged mice.2 Intra-articular administration of SW033291 also induces articular cartilage regeneration, as well as improves mobility and reduces pain in a catwalk gait analysis, in young mice in a model of post-traumatic osteoarthritis.
