Sandramycin is a cyclic depsipeptide antibiotic that was first isolated from the culture broth of Nocardioides sp.1 It is active against Gram-positive bacteria in vitro and leukemia P388 tumors in mice.1 Sandramycin acts as a bifunctional DNA intercalator that strongly binds DNA and forms crosslinks between DNA molecules.2
