It has static activities against a broad range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria but has no activity against fungi, including yeasts.1 This natural product was named for its strong activity against Enterobacteriaceae and is not related to the large group of bacterial proteins isolated from Enterococci that are classified as bacteriocins.
