    Stearamide is a primary fatty acid amide that is often used in the synthesis of organic chemicals and surfactants. Levels of stearamide are reported to be up-regulated in the serum of patients with hepatic cirrhosis.1 Thus, it may be a potential biomarker for disordered fatty acid metabolism related to fatty liver diseases.
