Folipastatin is a fungal metabolite produced by A. unguis and an inhibitor of phospholipase A2 (PLA2; IC50 = 39 μM).1 It inhibits release of arachidonic acid (Item Nos. 90010 | 10006607) from rat polymorphonuclear leukocytes (IC50 = 24 μM). Folipistatin also inhibits radioligand binding to L-type calcium channels in porcine heart membranes (IC50 = 0.39 μM) but has no effect on contraction of taenia (IC50 = >100 μM).
