Deacetylasperulosidic acid is a monoterpene glycoside originally isolated from D. macropodum that has antioxidant activity.1,2 It decreases serum malondialdehyde levels and increases superoxide dismutase activity in rats without affecting serum glutathione peroxidase activity when administered at doses of 30 and 50 mg/kg per day for seven days.2
