Long-chain Fatty Acid Methyl Ester Mixture (Menhaden fish oil)

Long-chain Fatty Acid Methyl Ester Mixture (Menhaden fish oil) contains three saturated, four monounsaturated ω-7 and ω-9, and 14 polyunsaturated ω-1, ω-3, ω-4, and ω-6 fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) prepared from menhaden fish oil. The double-bond positions of analytes were verified with authentic standards or, where not available, inferred from published data on menhaden oil.^1,2 This mixture is intended for use as a reference standard for the detection of these long-chain fatty acids in various sample types by GC-FID or GC-MS.
