Neutral Glycosphingolipid Mixture

Galactosylceramides, lactosylceramides, globotriaosylceramides, and globotetraosylceramides are neutral membrane glycosphingolipids that contain a saccharide moiety attached to a ceramide containing N-acyl hydroxy or non-hydroxy fatty acids. These glycosphingolipids have roles in synaptic signaling and immune activation and accumulate in a variety of lysosomal storage disorders, including Fabry and Krabbe diseases.^1,2,3,4 Neutral Glycosphingolipid Mixture contains hydroxy- and non-hydroxy galactosylceramides, lactosylceramides, globotriaosylceramides, and globotetraosylceramides. It is intended for use as a reference standard for the detection of these glycosphingolipids in various sample types by TLC or LC-MS.
