    Product Description

Integrins are cell adhesion receptors that mediate the attachment of cells to the extracellular matrix (ECM) and facilitate cell-cell interactions.1 The integrin family contains 18 α subunits and eight β subunits that form 24 different heterodimers grouped into familial subgroups based on subunit composition and/or their ligand binding properties. Integrin α4, also known as CD49D, is a subunit of the α4β1 and α4β7 leukocyte-specific integrins, which recognize fibronectin and vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM-1) and have essential roles in lymphocyte migration.1,2 Knockout of Itga4, the gene encoding integrin α4, induces failure of chorioallantoic fusion and is embryonic lethal in mice.1 Cayman’s Integrin α4/CD49D (C-Term) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (Clone RM268) can be used for immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western blot (WB) applications.
