    Product Description

    Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a Gram-negative bacterium that can infect and colonize the stomach.1 Transmission of H. pylori can occur directly through person-to-person contact, as well as through contaminated drinking water, raw vegetables, or animal milk.2 H. pylori infection can lead to chronic gastritis, stomach inflammation and oxidative stress, peptic ulcer disease, and gastric cancer.1 It is considered an oncogenic agent and, although a low percentage of patients infected with H. pylori develop stomach cancer, it is responsible for the majority of stomach cancers. In mouse models of H. pylori infection, antibiotics can reduce and prevent gastritis and pre-malignant changes. Cayman’s Helicobacter pylori Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (RM400) can be used for immunohistochemistry (IHC).
