    Product Description

Sunset yellow FCF is an azo dye.1 It displays an absorption maximum of 480 nm.1,2 It reduces LPS-induced proliferation of isolated mouse splenocytes, as well as inhibits proliferation of isolated mouse splenocytes in an allogenic mixed lymphocyte reaction when used at a concentration of 250 µg/ml.3 Sunset yellow FCF (0.325 mg/kg) induces chromosomal aberrations in somatic and germ cells and morphological abnormalities in sperm in mice, but it is not genotoxic in a micronucleus gut assay in mice when administered at doses up to 2,000 mg/kg.4 Formulations containing sunset yellow FCF have been used as colorants in food and cosmetic preparations.

WARNING This product is not for human or veterinary use.
