    Product Description

K114 is a fluorescent probe for the detection of amyloids.1 It displays pH-dependent excitation/emission maxima at 370/450 and 395/520 nm at pH 8.5 and 10.5, respectively, and demonstrates an increase in fluorescence intensity in the presence of amyloid-ß (1-40) (Aß40) fibrils. K114 also displays fiber-dependent excitation/emission maxima for silk moth (B. mori) silk, Chilean rose tarantula (G. rosea) web, and 5XFAD mouse brain amyloid fibers.2 It has been used to detect amyloid plaques in postmortem hippocampus from patients with Alzheimer's disease.
