Crassicauline A is a diterpene alkaloid originally isolated from A. crassicaule that has analgesic activity.1,2 It inhibits acetic acid-induced writhing in mice (ED50 = 0.048 mg/kg) and induces lethality in mice when administered at doses greater than 0.92 mg/kg.2
