    L-Tryptophanamide is an endogenous metabolite of L-tryptophan (Item No. 29600).1 It inhibits proliferation of, and induces necrosis in, human retinal pigment epithelium cells (HRPECs). Levels of L-tryptophanamide are increased in patients with wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD) presenting with choroidal neovascularization compared with wAMD patients presenting with polypoidal choroidal neovascularization.
