    Product Description

Taraxasterol acetate is a pentacyclic triterpene that has been found in P. sagittalis and has diverse biological activities.1,2 It reduces the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and Hsp72 induced by phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA; Item No. 10008014) in isolated human neutrophils when used at concentrations of 10 and 100 µM and increases Hsp72 production in unstimulated isolated human neutrophils at 100 µM.1 Taraxasterol acetate (50 µg/ml) reduces protein levels of the E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF31 and increases levels of the autophagy marker LC3-I/II in HCT116 and SW480 cells.2 Topical administration of taraxasterol acetate (46 µg/ear) reduces ear edema induced by arachidonic acid (Item Nos. 90010 | 90010.1 | 10006607), croton oil, or PMA in mice.1
