    Product Description

BMP2-derived peptide is a synthetic peptide that corresponds to residues 73-92 of bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP2) and has a role in osteogenesis.1 It increases alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity in C3H/10T1/2 murine mesenchymal cells when used at concentrations of 100 and 200 µg/well. BMP2-derived peptide (100 µg/well) increases mRNA expression of the gene encoding osteocalcin in C3H/10T1/2 cells. It induces osteoblast-like cell differentiation and ectopic calcification when conjugated to an alginate gel in rats when administered via a submuscular implant.2
