    ssK36 is a peptide super-substrate for the histone methyltransferase SET domain-containing protein 2 (SETD2) corresponding to amino acids 29-43 of histone H3 lysine 36 (H3K36) with amino acid substitutions at positions 31, 32, 36, 37, and 39.1 ssK36 is methylated 70-fold more and 290-fold faster than H3K36 (29-43) in cell-free assays.
