Lentztrehalose B is a disaccharide microbial metabolite that has been found in Lentzea and has diverse biological activities.1 It has antioxidant activity in an oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) assay when used at a concentration of 100 µM. Lentztrehalose B (10 mM) inhibits the activity of porcine kidney trehalase, the trehalose metabolizing enzyme. It induces autophagy in MeWo melanoma and OVK18 ovarian cancer cells when used at a concentration of 100 mM.
