    Product Description

Chondroitin sulfate is a glycosaminoglycan (GAG).1,2 It contains a GAG-protein linker region and repeating disaccharide subunits composed of glucuronic acid (GlcA) and N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) that are often sulfonated. Chondroitin sulfate chains of various lengths covalently attach to the surface of proteins via a serine residue in the GAG-protein linker region, forming chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans (CSPGs).2 CSPGs participate in the regulation of many biological activities, such as cell adhesion and migration, organization of brain extracellular matrix (ECM), and the anti-inflammatory response.2,3,4
