    Lipid 16 is an ionizable cationic amino lipid (pKa = 6.35) that has been used in the formation of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs).1 LNPs containing lipid 16 and encapsulating an mRNA reporter selectively accumulate in macrophages in mice after intravenous administration.
