    4-Methylumbelliferyl-α-L-fucopyranoside is a fluorogenic substrate for α-L-fucosidase.1 Upon enzymatic cleavage by α-L-fucosidase, 4-methylumbelliferone (4-ΜU) is released and its fluorescence can be used to quantify α-L-fucosidase activity. 4-ΜU displays excitation/emission maxima of 350/440 nm, respectively.
