    7-(p-Methoxybenzylamino)-4-nitrobenz-2,1,3-oxadiazole (MBD) is a fluorescent probe for hydrophobic regions of proteins.1,2 Upon binding to a hydrophobic region of a protein, MBD displays an emission of 530 nm upon excitation at 430 nm.1
