    Melitracen is a thymoleptic and tricyclic antidepressant.1,2 It inhibits serotonin (5-HT) uptake in rat brain synaptosomes (IC50 = 670 nM).1 Melitracen (20 and 40 mg/kg) increases the lethality of the α2-adrenergic receptor (α2-AR) antagonist yohimbine (Item No. 19869) in mice.2
