    Product Description

    Nifuratel is a nitrofuran antibiotic and an antiparasitic.1,2 It is active against G. vaginalis and A. vaginae (MIC90s = 0.25 and <0.125 µg/ml, respectively).1 In vivo, nifuratel (50 mg/kg) reduces parasitic load in a mouse model of L. donovani-induced visceral leishmaniasis and a mouse model of L. major-induced cutaneous leishmaniasis.2 Formulations containing nifuratel have been used in the treatment of vulvovaginal infections and urinary tract infections.
