    8(4’-bromophenyl)-1,3,5,7-tetramethyl-BODIPY is an intermediate in the synthesis of BODIPY-containing fluorescent dyes.1 It has also been used as a precursor in the synthesis of BODIPY-containing photosensitizer dyes with antibacterial activity.2
