Raddeanin A is a triterpenoid saponin that has been found in A. raddeana and has diverse biological activities.1,2,3 It binds to amyloid-β (1-42) (Aβ42; Kd = 27.63 µM).2 Raddeanin A (4 µM) inhibits the invasion and migration of, and induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 phase in, HeLa cervical cancer cells.1 It improves learning and memory in the Morris water maze in mice in the 3xTg model of Alzheimer’s disease when administered at a dose of 10 mg/kg.2 Raddeanin A (50 mg/kg) reduces neurological deficits, lesion volume, edema, and microglia lesion infiltration in a mouse model of acute cerebral hemorrhage induced by intracerebral injection of bacterial collagenase VII.3
