    8-Desoxygartanin is a xanthone that has been found in G. mangostana and has anti-inflammatory and enzyme inhibitory activities.1,2 It inhibits NF-κB p65 binding to DNA in a cell-free assay (IC50 = 11.3 µM).1 8-Desoxygartanin inhibits butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) and acetylcholinesterase (AChE; IC50s = 2.46 and 7.75 µg/ml).2
