    Product Description

MRSA antibiotic 2 is an antibiotic.1 It is active against the Gram-positive bacteria B. subtilis, S. aureus, and methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA; MICs = 2, 2, and 4 µg/ml, respectively) but not the Gram-negative bacteria E. coli, A. baumannii, and P. aeruginosa (MICs = >128 µg/ml for all). MRSA antibiotic 2 (32 µg/ml) disrupts the pH gradient of S. aureus and B. subtilis in a proton motive force assay using DiSC3(5) (3,3’-dipropylthiadicarbocyanine; Item No. 36308).
