    Product Description

    AL 34662 is an agonist of the serotonin (5-HT) receptor subtype 5-HT2.1 It selectively binds to 5-HT2 receptors (IC50 = 1.5 and 0.77 nM in isolated and washed human or rat cerebral cortex homogenates, respectively) over a panel of 19 neurotransmitter and steroid receptors at 10 µM. AL 34662 induces calcium mobilization in a reporter assay using primary human ciliary muscle cells (EC50 = 140 nM). It reduces intraocular pressure (IOP) in a cynomolgus monkey model of trabeculoplasty-induced ocular hypertension when administered at doses of 100 or 300 µg/eye.
