PFI-653 is an inhibitor of the pantetheinase vanin-1 (IC50 = 6.85 nM for the human enzyme).1 In vivo, PFI-653 (50 mg/kg) prevents reductions in body weight, as well as reduces disease severity and serum vanin-1 levels in a mouse model of colitis induced by dextran sulfate sodium (DSS; Item No. 23250). See the Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC) website for more information.
