    A-1596586 is a corrector of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) bearing the F508 deletion (F508del) mutation.1 It increases CFTR levels in CFBE41o- bronchial epithelial cells expressing F508del-CFTR fused to HRP (EC50 = 0.13 µM) and the transepithelial current in primary human bronchial epithelial cells isolated from a patient with cystic fibrosis with the F508del-CFTR mutation (EC50 = 0.028 µM).
