    Product Description

    Robenacoxib is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and COX-2 inhibitor (Ki = 30 nM for the human enzyme).1 It is selective for COX-2 over COX-1 (Ki = 800 nM for the ovine enzyme). Robenacoxib inhibits IL-1β-induced prostaglandin E2 (PGE2; Item No. 14010) production in human dermal fibroblasts (IC50 = 31 nM). It reduces carrageenan-induced paw edema (ID50 = 0.4 mg/kg), has antinociceptive activity in the Randall-Selitto test, and inhibits LPS-induced fever in rats. Formulations containing robenacoxib have been used in the treatment of post-operative pain and inflammation in cats.
