SB-9200 is an antiviral agent and a prodrug form of SB-9000.1 It reduces replication of wild-type, lamivudine-resistant, or adefovir dipivoxil-resistant hepatitis B virus (HBV) in HepG2/2.15 cells (EC50s = 2.5, 2.1, and 2.8 µM, respectively). SB-9200 inhibits replication in genotype 1a or 1b hepatitis C virus (HCV) replicon cells (EC50s = 2.2 and 1 µM).2 It also decreases viability, migration and invasion, and the levels of STAT3 and phosphorylated STAT3 and increases the levels of DEAD-box helicase 58 (DDX58) in HCT116 and SW620 colon cancer cells when used at a concentration of 80 µM.3 SB-9200 (100 mg/kg) reduces hepatic levels of HBV DNA in HBV-infected mice.1
