    ZM 226600 is an activator of ATP-sensitive potassium channels (KATP).1 It induces relaxation of potassium-precontracted isolated guinea pig bladder detrusor muscle strips (EC50 = 0.5 µM). ZM 226600 reduces bladder overactivity in a rat model of ligature-intact partial urethral obstruction.2
