Integrase interactor 1 (INI1), also known as SWI/SNF-related matrix-associated actin-dependent regulator of chromatin subfamily B member 1 (SMARCB1), is a subunit in the ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complex switch/sucrose nonfermentable (SWI/SNF).1,2 It is composed of an N-terminal DNA-binding domain, a transcription factor-binding domain, and a C-terminal nucleosome-binding domain.2 INI1 is ubiquitously expressed and found in the nucleus.1 It ejects nucleosomes from compacted DNA/chromatin, which is required for increasing gene expression.2 A cytosolic fragment of INI1 (183-294) binds to HIV-1 integrase and inhibits HIV-1 replication in T cells.3 Inactivating mutations or deletions of SMARCB1, the gene encoding INI1, are commonly found in cancers.1 Cayman's INI1 Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (Clone RM468) can be used for immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western blot (WB) applications.
