    VU0810464 is an activator of G protein-activated inward rectifier potassium channels (GIRKs), also known as Kir3.1 It induces GIRK1/2 and GIRK1/4 activity in a thallium flux assay using HEK293 cells expressing GIRK1 and GIRK2 or GIRK1 and GIRK4 (EC50s = 165 and 720 nM, respectively). VU0810464 (10 and 30 mg/kg, i.p.) reduces stress-induced hyperthermia in mice, but it does not affect the percentage of time spent or distance traveled in the open arms of the elevated plus maze in mice at 30 mg/kg.2
