    Product Description

SCH 221510 is an agonist of nociceptin opioid peptide (NOP) receptor.1 It induces [35S]GTPγS binding to CHO membranes expressing recombinant human NOP receptors (EC50 = 12 nM). SCH 221510 (10 mg/kg) increases time spent in the open arms and number of open arm entries in an elevated plus maze in rats. It increases drinking in the Vogel punished drinking task in rats when administered at doses of 3, 10, or 30 mg/kg. SCH 221510 (0.3, 1, or 3 mg/kg) reduces the number of vocalizations in a guinea pig pup model of separation-induced anxiety. It decreases the number of coughs in a guinea pig model of capsaicin-induced coughing (ED50 = 0.07 mg/kg).2
