Lucidenic acid B is a triterpenoid that has been found in G. lucidum and has anticancer activity.1,2,3 It inhibits Epstein-Barr virus early antigen production induced by phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (TPA; Item No. 10008014) in Raji Burkitt lymphoma cells.1 Lucidenic acid B inhibits the growth of COLO 205, HepG2, HL-60, and HT-29 cancer cells (IC50s = 249, 112, 19.3, and 382 µM, respectively) and induces apoptosis in HL-60 leukemia cells when used at concentrations ranging from 5 to 100 µM.2 It also inhibits TPA-induced invasion of HepG2 cells.3
